The first bit is a bit of an in-joke, from when we had rosh hashonnah in the forumette dorm, and there were parties going on elsewhere in the building and outside our window... so i yelled that out the balcony :)
I dunno where the "inscribed and sealed" comes from... but "may you have a good year" is basically what l'shannah tovah means... i posted this on jewish new year :)
In other news, I need to get better pictures of the nearby "house of poon" restaurant to show you...
