The slam of the side door was quickly followed by a muffled thud.
Raising the brow of his remaining eye, Xander looked pointedly at Buffy and Willow. “See, now, that’s disturbing.”
“I think it’s sweet,” Willow said, grinning.
Muffled voices from the other side of the door quickly cut off.
“No … disturbing.” Xander waved his hands around before pointing. “And obvious! Did you see the obviousness? What with the looking and the … looking. It’s almost as bad as when Willow and Tara would -”
“Hey! Sitting right here!” Her voice rang indignantly, and the line between her brows appeared.
“Don’t worry, Will,” Buffy cut in. “You’re right - it was really sweet when it was you and Tara, and it’s really sweet now that it’s Giles and Snape.” Turning to Xander, she added, “And it’s not like you can talk, Xan. I mean, was there anywhere in the Magic Box that you and Anya didn’t get it on?”
The women laughed as Xander’s mouth open and closed.
Finally, wagging a finger at her, he replied, “Well, come on, Buff. It’s not like all of us can have super-secrety sex.”
“Xander.” Buffy’s voice took on an edge, and her eyes narrowed fractionally.
He raised his hands, palms out, patting the air in conciliation. “Okay, okay. No Spike - I get it.”
“Besides … they look good together … two men … one light, one dark.” Buffy’s eyes glazed, and a rather dreamy smile curled her lips slightly as she propped her head up on one hand. “There could be oil,” she sighed.
“Well,” Willow offered, “there’s at least lube.”
“Oh, I so didn’t need to hear that!” Xander stood and began to shuffle the papers in front of him into hasty order.
Willow glanced at the side door, which shook every few seconds. “I’d say we’re already not hearing anything. I really have to figure how to do that Silencing Spell thingy without a wand.”
Looking over at the door, which gave a particularly intense shudder, Buffy grinned at Willow a bit deviously. “See, I told you - way vibey!”
AN: I hope you enjoyed the silliness. In true Buffyverse fashion, the light episode that ‘Recruit’ is leaves me longing to continue with a darker fic as a sequel. I’ve detected plot-bunny bites on my ankles already.
