I love the idea of Snape liking punk,
the rebellion and protest that he had to quell in himself.

Thanks! I can see it too (especially during the summers when he was back in the Muggle world).

"It does not seem that the toppings should be so … animate.”

Yeah, Buffy and Willow aren't hugely subtle.

The dialogue continues to delight me - I can hear them talking.

just now catching up with the rest of the story. This is a really good chapter - no big fireworks but they're not needed; it's about life and two men getting to know each other. I quite enjoyed the look inside each man's likes and dislikes. Plus, Buffy & Willow are so funny with their oh-so-obvious disappearances.

Thanks! I'm so glad that you liked the 'getting more comfortable with each other chapter'! While I know gay guys typically have sex much sooner than other couples, I still see these two hedging a bit.

I'm just reading this from the beginning and I am loving it. I was going to refrain from commenting until the end but I felt I should say something.
I think your 'Brit' is bang on, if you hadn't mentioned it I wouldn't have known you aren't from this sceptred isle.
I like the idea of Snape the punk although I wonder if he was perhaps a little old for it, Glam Rock would have been more when he was adolescent (Bowie, T-Rex, Roxy Music, the Dolls etc, I know that Glam means something else in the US). Also, it's only a small thing but I'm a big Pistols fan and my copy of Bollocks is yellow not pink and I'm fairly certain it's original. As I say not really a big thing but I thought I'd point it out as you've been so brilliant on the detail otherwise. :)

Thanks! I'm so glad you're enjoying the story and I hope you continue to do so!

I lived in London for a few years, and I have the wonderful saracen77 look things over for me,so it means a lot to hear that you find it 'Brit.'

As for the album - thanks - I'll change it to yellow with hot pink. Since the Sex Pistols got together in 1975, when SS was 14, I think it's fair that he could have heard them, and I can't see him as a '20th Century Boy,' no matter how fun I think t-Rex was. I picture him discovering punk in that missing time between when he left Hogwarts as a student and returned as a Professor, so about a year after Bollocks came out.

You're quite right of course, the idea of Snape in a feather boa and make up is quite ridiculous (or should that be riddikulus? *g*)

(snicker) Some slashers have cross-dressed him, so I'm sure there's fanart somewhere!

I'm so glad sahiya recced this today, and that I finally got to reading this. I love all of it, especially lines like this:

“Pizza sounds intriguing. It has been years since I had it, and I was never quite sure that the Wizarding interpretation of it was very accurate. It does not seem that the toppings should be so … animate.”

And their conversation about music. I can really buy this pairing now, when I have never really been able to before. It's rare for me to see these two get together without a personality transplant in one or the other of them, but both these guys' voices ring true to me. Well done.
