I didn't say I didn't like it. What I didn't like was having to goto the dentist. Ok, and I really think the whole food situation kinda sucks these days.

Nothing wrong with lingerie shops :) I've spent a small fortune at La Perla in the past.

There are just so many. I never really noticed until Jon pointed them out a few years ago and he is right, they are EVERYWHERE!

I actually never even went into the DM room! Unfortunatley it wasn't one of the better club nights there, or so i've been told.

In France you also get take away coffee without lids. They really do not do the concept of portable coffee.

But since they do excellent sit-down coffee everywhere, I'm OK with that.

Oh I don't mind a good sit down coffee at all. I'm shocked by the opening of a coffeshop that seems to cater to take away coffee. Seeing as Hungarians are found all hours of the day sitting dirnking coffee (including working hours!)I do see it taking hold too soon.

Fast food isn't a big concept. Even at McDonalds people linger.

I just want the lids since I'm a clutz

"they are all convinced that their terribly fake red hair somehow looks good"

Yeah, I've noticed that too. What's up with that???

"Food. People can’t cook anymore"

Except OUTSIDE of Budapest. There are some fuckin' ace hole-in-the-wall restaurants in rural Hungary. Although I admit some of them are owned by French people... ;)

Awesome pictures!

The French have moved to Hungary to open restaurants? How surreal is that?

Yup! A bunch of them even own wineries there, since it's too expensive to do so in France so they snapped up Magyar land in the early 90s before the government put a cap on foreign ownership.

What's VERY surreal is when you go to a small village in northeastern Hungary and you get a winery tour conducted entirely in French.

My aspiring-chef boyfriend is French, and is learning Hungarian, and has an unhealthy obsession with "Hungarian Fusion" cuisine!

The red hair thing has been going on for decades. It must be some communist thing. Maybe they restricted the sale of other colors of dye so that people could show their allegiance to a red state? who knows. The red hair thing dates back from before I was even born.

Yeah, their are a few but I feel like even those are't as numerous as they used to be.

Which ones do you know of? My parents recommended one on the way to Balaton. Supposedly they make a damn fine goose roast. And we have a family friend that makes home made food to die for. Soup made with loads of lovely marrow filled bone... need I say anymore?

Thanks! Though your cathedral shots take the prize. Some how the Aeroflot office isn't so photogenic.
