OMG. We've GOT to do something. Lately its just been out of control with all those Halloween fics. I've never been more anxious for a holiday to be over, but yanno, next will be the Thanksgiving series, then Christmas/Kwanzaa/Hanukkah....dear God will it EVER END??? My theory is that he obviously thinks his fic is good b/c he never hears otherwise; therefore he writes more and more and more....
I think you need to write that fic where Garcia is bitching about the prolific author in her fandom. What was the name? Swedishpyramid? I don't remember! *sigh*

Why don't we just do a closed community of writers that are good, that we KNOW produce quality work and that we can rely on to not suck, and then just post all our stuff there?

I know of at least one community that screens for quality. Granted, it would probably be a pain in the ass to moderate but the other alternative is just to watch the journals of the people you know are good writers and get fic that way...

And while I normally am not an elitist bitch, there are a couple of people that are just pushing my buttons.

Also, I'm really not as technically inclined as others, so while the spirit may be willing, the flesh is spongy...and bruised. ^_^

now which would you rather have...one of the fans like you just described, clogging your fandom with sheet or an author you adore who put of 4 chapters of amazing and then dropped off the face of the earth with so many unanswered questions and a feeling of abandonment?

I ask only cause
i'm wondering what the other end of the spectrum would look like...as in, the clogger fan on one end and ???? on the other.
