Now I'm obsessed with seeing Hausu. I'm sure Henry will thank you! He loves when I get tunnel vision.

Oh god, I LOVE IT! Loveitloveitloveit!

HOOOOOWWWW-Suuue

Another completely crazy and similar film: Funky Forest: The First Contact, which is also anarchic and insane - imagine an Saturday Night Live show co-directed by David Lynch and David Croenenberg, but with interconnected skits, animation, musicals, pretty Japanese scenes, gross stuff and space ships.

I loved all the movies-within-the-movie. Something about all the characters never really gelled for me. I just never fell for them. And I hated how dumb they all were.

That was one of the parts I liked! I love the ingenuity of putting it all together. The final film and the single shot that followed Def and Black making all of their Sweded films was the best. I just don't think the regular movie ever pulled me in - the whole story about the video store was flat.

I had a chance once to see Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Adaptation all in one evening, but I didn't have enough money at the time and my friends bailed on me anyway. It's one of those things that make me wish I had a time machine.

Since I'm poor, I probably won't be seeing Be Kind Rewind anytime soon.

Download RotLA: The Adaptation it via torrent. That's how I finally got a copy. And Be Kind, Rewind is really nice on the big screen. It's worth that much, for sure.

Where'd you find Hausu?

Torrent. It took FOREVER to DL but it's worth it, I promise. It's still not released on DVD, damn it. You can find it on the sites that sell rare DVDs, or on ebay. The guy on ebay describes it as Beetlejuice directed by Dario Argento. That's a pretty good description, but still doesn't come close.

See Hausu! Torrent it, steal it, burn it, rent it, buy it, ebay it, or get some rich film collector/musuem to screen it!
