It's pretty great. I haven't read any Philip Roth - avoided him 'cause I always thought of him as an annoying 'Big Dick Swingin'' writer-type. But my friend pushed it on me and I finally read it - and it was good.

The ending sucks, tho'.

I love love love Roth. I thought this was great but my favorite by him was probably The Human Stain. (I haven't read all his books obviously...he's done so many.)

American Pastoral is darn good too.

These are great! Are they based on particular Peanuts cartoons? Pages 2 and 3 look a little familiar, but I can't place them exactly (will look them up in my copy of "The Complete Peanuts" some time).

Sort of. They're combinations of various strips. This one is pretty close, tho'. The boy on the left was the blonde girl; the boy on the right was C. Brown; and the radio was a record player.
