I did that with a bottle of peanut sauce for my lunches -- I will have to get some garlic salt and other seasonings :) Thanks for the tip, I hadn't thought of bringing anything else.
Yeah, I was going to suggest some salt and pepper! Nothing spices up bland white gravy like a bit o' salt and a bit o' pepper. I do it with the utterly gravitas-free gravy at my work cafeteria.
In this instance, tasteless gravy is the bigger evil. You already have the moist sausage balancing the flaky biscuit. Thankfully it sounds like the sausage was separate from the gravy, which isn't always the case. If it were something like turkey & dressing I'd forego gravy on the turkey but not on the dressing.
I had biscuits and gravy once. At a Bob Evans in Columbus, Ohio. In May, 1989. It was that memorable. It sucked that hard. It landed like a rock. It made the three hours of driving I had left to get home to Indianapolis that much more miserable. I will never ever eat that stuff again. Ever. Blech!
Tasteless gravy is the greatest evil because you're looking at it and all ready for that party in your mouth and you take that first bite and the party's over before it got started. At least with no gravy you know what your getting.
