So, I know I’ve mentioned that I’ve been busy recently with PhD applications, but there’s also this other thing, which has been taking up most of my head space.

My grandma had some pretty awful health problems about a month and a half ago; she’d had a pacemaker put in around a year ago, I think, and earlier this fall things went pretty terribly

I've never experienced anything like this, so I feel unqualified to really comment, but it sounds like you and your Grandma are both amazing people and it just sounds like an awful situation. It's wonderful that you can be there for her, and I'm so sorry to hear that you and she are going through this. *hugs*

And it must be so hard to concentrate on PhD apps etc. with so much real, difficult, right now stuff going on. I'm really impressed that you're managing it all.

I'm so sorry about your Grandma. It's absolutely horrible having to watch someone die, but I bet she really appreciates you being there for her. *hugs*
