Honestly I found it tricky to get through mostly because I'm not use to reading such poetic writing like that but I liked it. I can see too why it was so controversial back in the day too. It's almost like the flip side of the Bible.
That's why I love it so much, Milton plays Devil's advocate so well and just through that there can be subtle, but distinct commentary about how we tend to conceptualize the hierarchies of Heaven and Hell which is patently absurd because it's meant to be unearthly and all that jazz.
I have around the same number of books I read last year. I'm quite embarrassed to say that I've never read any Sherlock Holmes books :/ I'm halfway through The Hobbit now, I think it's my fourth time reading it.
