hope yr folk festivaling was/is awesome! i ran into karl and beverly on friday and they were bringing vegan cookies to sell, yayyy!

Folk festival was indeed great. clog dancing+Irish folk music played by a troupe of old Irish men and young U of C students+Irish storytelling about the devil+bluegrass+contra dancing=awesomeness

I also made vegan cookies for the festival- I made them with Bowersites at 4 am after the party when we were all drunk (though I was drunk only on dancing and laughter and friendship, and it reminded of me of what I once knew so well: that all these are infinitely better than alcohol, so much so that I think I may never drink to the point of drunkenness again).

As I was walking in to deliver my cookies, I overheard the seller offering, "we have chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, vegan chocolate chip, vegan oatmeal raisin" (I assume the last two were Beverly's) and a little five-year-old boy turned to his Dad and said definitively, "I want vegan chocolate chip" and it made my heart smile.
