I like the cell-phone plan. Speaking of setting up a time to talk, we should do this.

I would love to...however, this will be easier to do once I have a cell phone when I'm at home, instead of never :)

I'll let you know when my Dad gets it together and adds me to his cellphone plan, as I requested about a month ago...

i love not having a microwave; we don't have one in my current apartment, and i think it's just plain healthier to not be using one.

the computer thing is an issue for me. there have been times when i've gone without my laptop for awhile (like, not having internet on it, or when i studied abroad in madrid and didn't bring it along.) but really, i'm a little too attached to the thing. maybe i should limit the amount of time i spend on it, or something. at the same time, it's really hard in this day and age NOT to have constant access to a computer.

You might benefit from my cellphone plan: I have a cellphone, I carry it around with me, but I never turn it on unless I am going to make a call or I am expecting a call (which means, usually, that I have "made plans ahead of time" but they will require real-time coordination at the rendezvous point, or notification of an emergency change of plans. I don't give out my cell number except to people with whom I'm going to be doing such coordination in the immediate future. To my mind, this pretty cleanly severs all the good things about cellphones from all the bad ones.

I get service through Tracfone, which is a prepaid provider whose prices work out to roughly $4/month + $0.15/minute. Of course, this only works if you also have a land line.
