Sice my interview on Tuesday (who knows how well that went), I've been cruising around on YouTube in between scouring the great wide Internet for jobs. I think I've seen every Graham Norton video by now and went searching for music tonight ( Read more... )

A. DM defintely. MM is too much a knock-off. I could get into Cash's version if his voice wasn't so feeble sounding ( ... )

z. feist. It's ironic, I hear this version and The Postal Service Against All Odds on the muzak at Kohl's.

Here's one for you
Straight Outta Compton
NWA

Nina Gordon

There's an interesting musicality with the Nina Gordon version; however, the rawness of NWA's version still holds my attention more. That's a fairly powerful song, lyrically speaking.

v. judy, find me a gay man who doesn't like it
Well, you found me.

w. hate phil collins but good song, I'm going with mariah oddly enough because while The Postal Service has an interesting cover, sometimes it takes away from the song
Really? I prefer the treatment that The Postal Service gives, especially the change in tempo and key in the middle. It's jarring, but in a good way.

What did you think about "Careless Whisper" as done by The Gossip?

good luck with the interview!

I could only listen to the first- definately Johnny Cash, I like Depeche Mode but Marilyn is just messed up imo- I don't care how talented some think he is- he is disturbed and where is it written that artist have to appear disturbed to be considered 'artistic'?

Not heard anything from them yet, but maybe soon.

Aww ... I like Manson. He has a very interesting point of view on a lot of issues and, though is imagery is often extreme, his commentary is valid. You should watch some interviews with him; he's kind of clever and funny. Even sweet when talking about his girlfriend (or wife, depending on the year the film was taped). He was a hoot on Graham Norton's show that also had Nigella Lawson on it.
