I often walk to campus from my house, and the fastest way sends me through a fairly nice, if deteriorating stretch of woods. Even with the leaves gone, if you look in just the right direction, all the houses disappear and there's only wilderness (totally awesome, by the way).

i walked out of Crypto today and this kid Collin was standing there looking like he decided to jump into the pool. actually, truth be told he had about a square foot of non-drenched materials on his backside under his coat, but we had to look for it. he was just completely drenched, his raincoat did absolutely nothing to save him. evidently the sky just opened up and fell directly on him, so he reports. for one, i believe him.

my house is on a pretty big hill, with a nice flood plain below. getting down today was "fun" to say the least. unfortunately i'm still wearing the same shoes and they aint got no soul man.
