Sometimes I'm not so sure about the tag thing on last.fm. I just told it to make me a radio station based on the tag "folk punk". The third song it gave me was James Brown. Four songs later it was giving me Mozart. Guh?

music, wtf

I joined lastFM like...I dunno when. I think one of my friends asked me to join
I have never used it though *shrug* so I feel bad when people find me and add me because I don't even remember my log in.

It is a reminder to me that I don't just join online things anymore..like facebook or whatever else is the flavor of the week. I will most likely stick with El Jay and though I have MySpace, I often forget to check on that as well....I am too lazy to have so many internet accounts =P

Haha, I just tried to add you today :) it has a function to automatically search your email contacts for anyone who has an account. :) so dont worry about adding me back or anything if you never use the site.

oh, by the way -- I'm trytryagain on last.fm.

and: yeah, I wonder about the tags. do we know whether there is a way to measure the . . . intensity of the tagging? like, can you tag a thing with the same word more than once?

Yeah, I've found tags to be pretty useless. I went back and deleted all the tags I had put on things and nothing changed.

In my experience, all the music picking sites on the web exist solely to find new and exciting ways to get me to listen to really shitty gangsta rap, cousinhumpin' country and vapid fil-in-the-blanks pop music.

I have this unfortunate appreciation for three eminem songs, a few dozen Johnny Cash songs and two of Pink's albums. I always forget that I am supposed to tell the computer that I hate them. Thus, in the eyes of the Intarweb, I must want to listen to nothing but Tupac, Billy Ray Cyrus and Justin Timberlake. No matter how many times you click the "don't ever play this dogcrap music again or I shall run straight off to your primary control room and reprogram your memory banks with a very large ax" button, it never goes more than five songs before I have to hear about cruisin' wit da homeies in a pickup down on the ranch because they love Abercrombie & Fitch.

HAHAHA. Yeah, that is mostly true. However, I have discovered a whole lot of awesome bands through Pandora, so I can't fault it too much.
