I was there once. Believe it or not, I used to be ultra-rational when I was younger. When I started having many spiritual experiences, I started organizing "things that made sense" and "things that can only be proven in spiritual terms," or a mix of the two, into boxes in my mind. In the end I had so many boxes and none of them fit together. Whenever something new happened in my life, I had to run them through each of the possible realities in each of the boxes, but it was too much for one mind to even contain. In the end I had to let every box go except one, and just accept that it might have been the wrong choice. Though the most spiritual box made the most sense, it still felt like betraying myself.
