In my experience (i went to an all girls school, the bitchyness there was just astonishing) -you'd go into school and wonder if your friends would still like you today, because there would be times when they would all suddenly and for no apparent reason decide that they don't like you. If this happened, then it was likely that your life would be hell for the next few weeks AT LEAST. They would "forget" to invite you to things and then talk about how great it was really obviously infront of you. Everytime you'd hear them all laugh you would just know it was something to do with you... It's all the little things that add up and can't be proven. Something so stupid on it's own that you can't even bring it up. But all together, it would be awful.
Well, in my case, I've seen it from the victim and the tormentor's point of view before, I guess. When you're the tormentor, you leave the person out of everything. You make every reason to stay away. You go everywhere without her, you leave her out, you make her miserable, you talk about her behind her back. I've seen my own friends do that.
As for me... my friend asked me to go shopping with her one day, and she was whispering to me about another girl who went out with us too the whole day. Later, I found out from that girl that my friend had said, "Hey, where are you going? Wanna go out with me today? I don't want to go out with Cherie (me) alone." Which was absolutely bitchy. This kind of backstabbing is really important to teens our age, yeah, so I hope that writing the book goes well. It sounds great to me. Good luck!
