Title: Those Things
Pairing: Jessie/Violet
Rating: R
Disclaimer: The Boxcar Children are not mine.
Violet had been hesitant at first; she had never heard of anyone else doing what Jessie had proposed, but Jessie soothed her by explaining that it was one of "those things." Violet knew what Jessie meant by "those things;" they were the things everyone did, but no one talked about; they were things like fighting with your siblings, or the way the boys whistled as they drove by Jessie and Violet on the side of the road.
They only did it when the boys were gone.
Jessie would casually suggest that Benny should get some exercise and Henry would volunteer to go on a walk with him to the convenience store, maybe even give him a penny for bubblegum if he was good.
Jessie would steal a button-up shirt and pants from Henry's closet and dress and come into Violet's room. They would close the shutters and the door. Only light and whispers were allowed to penetrate the distance between them.
Then Jessie--only Jessie, never Jessica, especially now, when she did things to Violet's body that she had only read about boys doing--would straddle her and slip her fingers beneath Violet's own clothes.
Violet couldn't name everything Jessie did to her body, but it didn't matter. What Jessie did to her was one of "those things," and Violet knew she could never voice it, and that was the truth.
