It was two in the morning and Cameron was standing on Cuddy's doorstep, with her finger resting lightly on the doorbell.
She pushed it.
Nothing.
She pushed it again.
Momentarily, a soft pat-pat was heard and then the door opened.
"You," said Cuddy elliptically.
Cameron didn't ask what she meant--was she expecting someone else? was she expecting her? was she happy? disappointed?--she didn't ask, because she was afraid of hearing the answer.
Especially if it was good news.
Instead, Cameron leaned forward and kissed Cuddy. And when Cuddy kissed her back, she smiled involuntarily.
