Oh, oh fuck.

That hurts in all the right/wrong ways, christ.

Fuck. *shudders*

very tense, very intense. Just. Whoa. I feel like I want to yell at him to slow down, and it's great that you explored a little bit about how he would have felt, faking his death and leaving behind everything and everyone he has ever known, and the only person who ever cared properly, I guess. It's different, and good. I like it. I think I'd like seeing his perspective. It can't have been easy. I almost forgive Irene for the betrayal in this one. She makes up for it, she really does.

Brilliant fic. Thank you!

This comment made me very, very happy. Thank you so much! I really love Irene, so I'm glad that you almost forgave her in this one. I might write Sherlock's perspective at some point, but I find his head really hard to get into--I like looking at him through other people. But you never know--and I am signed up for Remix 10, so maybe someone else will get inspired and do Sherlock's point of view. :)

Thanks again for commenting--I'm totally beaming.

Yay! Thank you for reading it, even though you don't usually read Sherlock/Irene. That means a lot. :)

Damn, what a wonderful story. I love how much you pack into a short fic, so I really got the sense of months passing and things changing and all their crazy illegal adventures, and your Irene is just so perfect -- independent and calm and assured and herself, throughout. The ending seems like the natural conclusion to their relationship, really. Thank you for the great read.

You're very welcome! And it's my favorite icon -- I lost my 100+ icons when I didn't renew my paid account, but decided that this default was perfectly fine for everything, as it has been for two years. :)

This is a really beautiful and perceptive version of the Irene/Sherlock dynamic. Sub!Sherlock-doesn't-really-want-Irene-per-se-but-damn-she-stirs-something-in-him is my headcanon so I'm really happy to see it written out this way - and done so well. Thank you!

Thank you! I have so many conflicting feelings about Irene/Sherlock--I mean, I ship them like crazy. But I can't ever imagine them being happy together--it just wouldn't work, for about a thousand different reasons, only one of which is that the emotions between them are really uneven. Thanks for commenting.:)
