Tyki returned from the anniversary party late and crawled into bed, still half in the grip of the virus, and half not. It was, perhaps, fortunate that he got into the right bed. he didn't actually pay close attention to which apartment he'd gone to. Zechs worked very late into the morning, as always. During the geas of the last virus, he worked as often as he could. It was not due to lack of affection for his wife; she was a brilliant woman, extremely intelligent, keen of wit. But he saw little need for personal time. Tyki muttered in his sleep, not as early a riser as Zechs by nature. But he opened his eyes a moment later, blinking sleepily at Zechs for a second before memory came flooding back.

Wow, he had a clean-up job to do, didn't he?

But first, his real husband needed his attention. "Good morning," he murmured, his voice husky with sleep. "Are you all right, my love? Quite recovered?"

His eyes remaining closed, Zechs leaned forward so their foreheads touched, still holding Tyki. It was difficult for even him to understand everything he was thinking. The accidental video broadcast on the forum was his primary concern, of course; he was worried for Tyki. He was concerned that Tyki backslid so easily, and even more worried about how his husband felt about it. There was his reputation on the forum to consider as well. Tyki sighed and dropped back to the pillow, pulling Zechs down with him. He was immensely relieved that Zechs was doing all right, under the circumstances.

"I'm all right. I've got a monstrous headache and some fires to put out, but all in all, it's been worse." He smiled at Zechs, running light fingers through his hair. "I'm glad you're not upset by it. Nabiki was an acceptable wife, was she?"

There were still those thoughts rolling around in his head. Concern and something which Zechs was refusing to call jealousy were winning out. When Zechs lay down beside Tyki, his entire body was tense, face against the other man's neck. He wasn't intending to lie to his husband. But he didn't know just how he was supposed to feel ( ... )
