Zechs thinks this entire experience is not unlike flying a Leo when drunk, or at least flying in a simulator when drunk - he's never been stupid enough to do the former, and was once young and foolish enough to do the latter. He pulls out his pistol, the only one the guards didn't take, and aims. Kind of.
Well, at least he's a crack shot when he's sober?
Dryly, he admits, "I'm not certain if it'll help a great deal. At least you're next to my self."
"We're missing my other gun, the sword Saguru gifted me, and of course your vehicle."
Tyki beamed. That was the best news he'd heard all day - after all, that meant that they were going to have to lead the fire nation guards on a merry chase that much longer to find all their stuff.
"Excellent," he said cheerfully, and seized Zechs' hand. "This way, love!"
And he started off down the hall at a fairly fast clip, chuckling to himself.
Oh sweet merciful Christ. Zechs lets himself get pulled along, perhaps relying on Tyki's arm a bit for balance. He doesn't so much run as he stumbles, his normal elegance and military precision lost to him, and the limp somewhat well marked. But he is disciplined enough physically that he can keep up when so impaired, more or less.
Surely the armory or store of confiscated weapons couldn't be too hard to find.
He's not bothering to return fire at the Fire Nation soldiers, though. They're moving too quickly, and through too many walls, for their enemies to get a proper bead on them. And if his aim is going to be poor, he'd rather they fire when they're standing still.
"Have you any idea where we would be headed, dearest?"
"Not really!" Tyki said. He stopped in a large hall and released a few dozen teases, who whirled around the room and lighted on the columns, the throne, and the walls. They didn't seem bothered by the large wall of flames that separated the throne from the rest of the room in a rather impressive display.
"Ozai will have a fun time getting rid of those," Tyki chortled, then sank through the floor as the guards converged from several doors.
It was really lucky for everyone concerned that the only people Tyki really gave a shit about were Zechs and Rufus in this place. Otherwise, maybe he'd try a bit harder to get at Ozai, or do anything beyond the mischief he currently employed. Zechs was really too inebriated to consider this. He just wanted to get his stuff and go home. His first visit to the Fire Nation certainly wasn't leaving a worthwhile impression on him.
He grabbed tightly onto Tyki as they sunk through the floor for support. Looking around, he tried to get his bearings again.
"It's really annoying to have this virus," Zechs muttered. "I'll never remember the floor plan as I should. This is a great opportunity for recon."
Wobbling slightly, he tried to keep himself moving forward, not downward. "What are those guards doing there?"
"Don't worry, I've been here before," Tyki assured him. "I guess we should probably head back towards the prison level to try to find your weapons, but I'm having so much fun."
He was rather in denial, sure he wasn't drunk. But he was definitely acting more outrageously than usual. It was very difficult to tell when Tyki was intoxicated - and even more difficult to actually get him intoxicated.
The Fire Nation was bearing the brunt of the results.
