[Backdated to Friday. SORRY GUYS, THE WEEKEND ATE ME. If I forgot someone we had previously said could come, let me know. And if people want to crash, er, go for it! It's really just a private party, though.]They hadn't taken the car, because travelling by car to the North Crater was pretty much impossible. In the end, it seemed to Tyki that it'd ( Read more... )

Tyki and Zechs picked a very inconvenient time to knock on the front door. Dark was too preoccupied with Rufus on top of him pressing him into the couch to notice the two life forms nearby or to hear the knocking. He thought he heard something of some sort, but sliding his hands up Rufus' shirt seemed more important. Briefly, it crossed his mind that Rufus mentioned earlier something about cards and guests, but that was quickly forgotten.

Gracefully sitting in a chair beside Tyki, Zechs kept a careful but discreet eye upon his lover and Dark. He didn't think Dark was particularly aggressive or violent, from what little he knew, but the Noah was so very good at baiting people. Still, he didn't say a word of caution as Rufus had. Such would have little effect upon Tyki, besides.

Used to such things by now considering their own pet, Zechs barely paid Dark Nation any heed. Yet with his luck, the chair he had chosen was her favorite. Well, his reflexes were certainly more than fair - he could avoid getting pounced upon if he was careful, he supposed.

He bowed his head slightly to Rufus after he unveiled the waterfall. It was a little pretentious for Zechs' tastes also, but he was polite enough not to mention this. However, he did raise one eyebrow towards Tyki. "A waterfall is rarely a figure one would simply install among a domicile's other decor ( ... )

"Why not?" Tyki said to Zechs, waving a hand casually. Suddenly there was a deck of cards in his hand, and he pulled them from the box, beginning to shuffle them.

"We have money. Besides, with some rocks and pipes you can get pretty much the same effect. Even indoors." He smirked at Zechs, obviously in rare form today.

"So when do we play?"

"Now instead of later would be nice," Dark said to Tyki. He chose to sit next to Kaito - entirely on purpose so he could take advantage at making fun of him, and to also make sure that he wouldn't try to slip any cards up his sleeves during the game. Not that Dark was thinking of doing that.

The small courteous smile turned into a wider smirk when aimed in Tyki's direction. Zechs' voice was wry. "Would such a thing serve any practical purpose?"

Zechs was beginning to get a slight feeling of foreboding, but ignored it. He knew Tyki would cheat shamelessly, but as his eyes were sharp and his wits were well about him, he doubted he'd get fleeced easily within this card game. It went without saying that Zechs wouldn't cheat at all. He was hoping to come out ahead despite the Noah's efforts, however.

His eyes attentively watched Rufus as the man shuffled the cards, though he did not expect his employer to be stacking the deck quite yet.

"Of course it wouldn't," Tyki said, clearly not considering that to be a bad thing.

He grinned sidelong at his lover, but didn't take his own eyes off Rufus, either. He slipped the deck of cards into his sleeve once again, and it let out a quiet squawk of dismay that was just audible to the others at the table.

He fully expected Rufus to try to stack the deck in front of them this soon. Why else would he have wanted to take part in the little poker challenge between himself and Kaito?

Aoko wasn't any good at poker, but she knew the rules and he always liked to watch Kaito doing games with her hands. She leaned o Kaito's chair and watched the other men, that was the most interesting part. Her attention was more centered to the glares, the small gestures, the imperceptible movements that all they were doing while reacting to a comment or gible than the game itself. Aoko also noticed the yelp of Tyki, but she thought that it was better not to say nothing.
