[RL with Zechs]

Tyki had left the kids with Dark at some point, and good riddance to them. He wasn't sure whether Rufus had actually regressed mentally as well, but when Hakuba had started to do so, it had gotten annoying very quickly ( Read more... )

Zechs was now at the Gaia apartment as well, though for how long was anyone's guess. Being a Turk was quite demanding, though he wasn't surprised by that, and adding Rufus' sudden ... impairment to the equation meant he had to be even more dutiful. Should someone take advantage of the situation, he would be needed immediately. One supposes that was why the President had given him lodging beneath his own residence. Like Tyki, Zechs wasn't far, in case he was needed ( ... )

Tyki groaned, already beginning to come around even as Zechs pulled him up. He clutched at Zechs' arm.

His head was pounding, and his chest still felt tight. But thankfully for him, his body had ejected everything that it was carrying inside it before going completely solid. He struggled just to breathe, but it was getting easier.

For the first time in a long time in Zechs' presence, Tyki's skin was pale and the crown of thorns was gone. He also looked slightly younger, though it might take a bit of observation to notice. He had only youthened by about five years, to his late teens.

His eyes fluttered open, and they were blue. "What happened?" he asked in utter confusion.

Zechs processed some things rather quickly, but the method of priorities for such thoughts within his brain meant certain things wouldn't immediately occur to him. For example, he immediately noticed Tyki had changed back to his 'Light' side, which he seldom did when they were alone. But he was too busy checking for any obvious wounds to consider the importance of that detail right away. Aloud, he immediately asked, "I do not know. Are you all right? Are you harmed?"

No injuries. Now he attempted to figure out why the teases were acting the way they had, and why the man was in his human guise. Were there intruders in the vicinity? Yet that should not be any reason for Tyki to disguise himself, though it would explain the teases. Or would it? They were not focusing upon a single target - rather, they seemed to be almost confused, as they still swirled over his blond head.

Looking at his lover more closely, Zechs was beginning to have a niggling suspicion. One he was definitely certain Tyki would not like.

Tyki's confusion was beginning to fade. He felt like a large part of his body had just been scooped out, and there was this echoing space inside him where something should be.

A moment later, he figured out what it was, and he sat bolt upright, pulling out of Zechs' arms, though without inhuman strength.

"My Noah!" he exclaimed in mixed tones of horror and shock.

He tried to scramble to his feet, but was strangely clumsy and slow. Everything seemed strange and immediate, and suddenly he felt a jolt of pain in his hand.

"Ow!" he exclaimed, yanking his hand back. Blood welled from a gash in his palm where he had put it down on a shard of plate.

The teases were beginning to settle - onto everything and everywhere. Zechs largely ignored them now, however, as his suspicions were confirmed by Tyki's outburst. Firmly, though not solicitously, as he didn't want to offend his lover's pride, he carefully helped the man to his feet. He also kept the now-bleeding hand away from their clothes, palm turned upwards, examining the depth of the gash. Viruses do not affect every person at once, he reminded himself.

Zechs was suddenly struck by a horrible thought. He was very thankful, then, Tyki was here with him, rather than on the Ark.

Remaining calm, Zechs walked them slowly over to the sink, so he could run water over the cut to disinfect it. He fought for the right thing to say. Wryly, if it would help his lover, he commented, "At least you are not a child."
