[ Exhaling softly as she listens to the brief audio transmission, Valeria takes a brief moment to collect herself. That the voice coming from her communicator belongs to a child is honestly surprising as it is rare that children are brought to Demeleier; and yet, there's no denying that that is indeed the voice of a child, one who is probably confused and well on the way to being upset and frightened as a result of the abrupt change in surroundings and the lack of familiarity. Frowning at that thought, she reaches for her communicator and moves to activate the feed, pausing just long enough to opt for audio or video. She doesn't want to scare the girl with her scars, after all. ]

It's... not exactly a game. More importantly, though, are you alright?

If, if they made you forget, I'd just have to help you remember everybody again, but that wouldn't be a problem since you're going to do a really good job helping me remember who everybody is. I won't have to do that, though, because I'll never let anyone make Luki forget her important people.

[ And -- hey, wait a minute! Does this girl call everybody big bro and big sis? And more importantly than that, did she just say 'Big Bro Link'? It's not exactly a common name and she is tempted to ask right then and there, but decides against it for the moment. There'll be plenty of time for that after she's picked her up from... well, wherever the fae dropped her off. ]

I need you to look around and tell me if you see a big stone building anywhere nearby. If you don't, I need you to tell me what you do see so I can come get you. Can you do that for me?

[AUDIO]

Oooookay ... you promise? Luki won't ever forget? [she'll believe you if you tell her so, val. n_n]

Um ... yeah! There's a big house made out of rocks right here where Luki woke up! Do you know where I am?

[AUDIO]

I promise that Luki won't ever forget.

[ She pauses then, her footsteps falling faster in the background in response. Big house made out of rocks? She's less than two minutes from it. ]

I do! Give me... maybe a minute? And I'll be there!

[AUDIO]

Ooookay! [and she sounds definitely relieved by that reassurance.]

Big Sis Val will get here faster than chocobo shakes a tail, right?!

Eh!?

[ Valeria almost trips at that statement, fumbling the communicator and working her feet rapidly to regain her balance and prevent herself from kissing the ground in front of her. Fortunately, she manages to correct herself, but she's more concerned with what Luki just said than the crisis averted. ]

2/2 - [AUDIO → ACTION]

[ 'Faster than chocobo shakes a tail,' huh? Either this girl knows her very well or... well, she was definitely in the care of someone from the Planet at some point in time, that much is for sure. The way Luki said it, though, is really what makes her think it's the former. Checking her grip on the communicator, she inhales and continues to press on, lifting her eyes to watch for the girl as she approaches the temple. ]

Y-yeah, that's right! I -- [ and she pauses as her eyes find what appears to be the child in question from behind, if the height of the person is any indication ] -- Luki, is that you?

[ACTION] 1/2

[it's her, all right. she turns around to face val, all mismatched eyes and tattered dress and crown askew and a grin so wide it threatens to break the girl's face in half - ]

[ACTION]

[ - and before she has time to get a single word out, she catches sight of the scarring at val's neck, and her face falls.]

Big Sis, what happened to your neck?

[ She pauses in her tracks and lifts a gloved hand to touch the base of the crescent-shaped scar decorating her neck. Of course Luki'd notice it. For all she knows, the girl was just with her moments before she showed up in Demeleier and the chances of the 'her' Luki had been with having the same scars she acquired in Demeleier? Laughably tiny, but how to explain it...? ]

You mean this?

[ She adopts an easy smile and continues to approach, running her fingers the length of the scar as she stuffs her communicator into her pant's pocket. ]

I was just a little careless when dealing with someone, that's all.

[ACTION]

[luki stares wide-eyed in shock for another half a minute, then abruptly bursts into tears and rushes forward to throw her arms around val's waist.]

[ACTION]

[ Valeria can't help but blink rapidly in turn, her smile falling and fast when Luki bursts into tears. Opens her arms without a second thought, she comes to a halt when the girl runs into her and promptly wraps her arms about her shoulders, hugging her gently yet securely. ]

Shhhhhh, it's okay. It's okay, Luki.

[ACTION]

[between sobs:] B-but Big Sis Val doesn't have any spare parts! You can't be careless with someone who doesn't have spare parts!

[ACTION]

[ Okay, wait what now? ] Spare... parts? What do you mean, Luki?

[ACTION]

[she pulls back from val, sniffling, and rubs at her eyes with a patch of her oversized sleeve.]

Spare parts are for fixing you when you break. Luki and Noki don't break, but we get new parts, sometimes.

[here she tugs the collar of her dress down in the back to reveal the metal collar of her Kerberos spine modification.]

You said some people are ... [what was the word? she thinks very hard for a second] ir-re-place-able. And if they break, they break for good, and you can't fix them, because they don't have spare parts! So Luki and Noki always have to ask if people have spare parts before we play with them.
