The only footcare suggestion I can make is to ask the boyfriend for foot massages, if he knows how to do them right. It feels gooooood.
And I'm sort of confused as to what you mean when you say your mom didn't want you to get any worse. Is there something wrong with your feet, besides callouses and rough skin?

The reason she didn't want my feet to get worse is because getting cuts and such there leaves you open to a LOT of infection possibilities--and she was afraid that I might fall into having a more serious health issue, like diabetes. And with me having blood clot issues, it's imperative that I prevent clots, so ensuring that I take care of my feet will help prevent clots from showing up in my legs.
It's like my feet are health barometers or something. The worse they look, the worse off I am. They've really improved since I lost my job... Hm.
