We traded. Hee.
Remember Nae, Torhle, and Lanthus from
The Azure? Good. ;)
---
"Hide me!"
Torhle blinked as Naefindan darted around him to hide behind a large water barrel. He puzzled over his lover's odd actions for a moment until a loud shout could be heard followed by Lan's bellowing. He winced.
"Nae..."
"Shh! I'm not here," Naefindan insisted.
Rolling his eyes, Torhle walked casually across the deck of the Azure to peer down the stairs belowdecks. A moment later he swiftly backtracked to get out of Lan's way as the big man stormed out... wearing a skirt. Torhle blinked.
"Err... Lan?"
Lanthus turned a furious glare on Torhle. "Where is he?" he roared. "That devious, conniving miscreant! Naefindan!"
The big man stormed around hunting for his captain with Torhle following with steadily mounting bemusement. "I'm going to guess that Nae had something to do with your current attire?" he asked.
Lan rounded on him. "Gone! Every single pair, gone! When I get my hands on that..."
"I sincerely doubt Nae would have pitched them overboard," Torhle pointed out rationally, "So they've got to be on the ship somewhere. Would you like me to help you look?"
Lanthus blinked at him a few times, then slowly some of the enraged edge faded away. He sighed sullenly and crossed his arms. "Fine. But I still reserve the right to strangle him."
Laughing quietly, Torhle began hunting in the most obvious Naefindan hiding spots. That is, wherever anyone in their right mind would never think to look. He'd cased the entire main deck as well as the fore and poop decks and was just about to head down belowdecks when there was a tentative call from overhead.
"Err, Lanthus... Ah..."
Irritably Lan shot a look up into the rigging. "What?" he demanded, then gaped.
Torhle followed his gaze, then drug a hand down his face. "Nae..." he sighed.
Flying like many colored flags from the masts were all of Lanthus's trousers, some of them obviously stitched together to make longer pennants. There were bright flashes here and there and Torhle suspected bits of sparkle had been added for 'extra effect.'
"NAEFINDAN!" Lanthus roared. "I'm going to break every bone in your body!"
"That probably isn't going to motivate him to come out of hiding," Torhle pointed out calmly, walking over to the rope ladder leading into rigging and swinging onto it. "Nae," he called out, "I'm going up to get Lan's pants back, and if you don't want me to fall I'd suggest you come help."
He was nearly to the main yard arm when Nae caught up with him, sulking. "That's cheating," he pointed out.
Torhle shrugged as best he was able while hanging onto the ropes. "That wasn't very nice, what you did to Lan."
Naefindan grinned faintly. "Everyone was placing bets as to whether or not I could get him in a skirt. I won."
Closing his eyes for a moment, Torhle let out a quiet sigh. "You have issues." He carefully freed one hand and reached up to grab a handful of golden curls, pulling the man close for a brief, if intense kiss. "Now go get Lan's pants or I'm making you sleep alone tonight."
With one last dramatic sigh, Naefindan turned and began swiftly climbing up the mast. Torhle admired the view until Nae was out of sight, then began the slow climb back down.
