I don't feel that you're not good at anything. It's not that I'm any better. I'm too lazy to practice anything, or read long instructions and that kind of things. My attention span is way to short and I get easily bored with things. The only thing I'm really good at is slacking off. >_>

I do very much appreciate your compliments, but I just feel that I'm so much inferior to my friends, all of them in posession of at least one useful skill I do not have. I may know some random stuff, but I don't really see how that can be of any use to people. :/

I think this may be the first serious praise I've ever gotten for anything I've drawn, and that's saying a lot after one year of "art school". :p So thank you very much, although you must agree with me that the drawings in themselves are crap, and as such it is not really necessary for me to draw stuff if I have ideas. :p

Oh, I'm awesome at hiding my cynicism (which I do not consider a useful skill :p). It's something that has been growing in me lately, though.

I mean, you were what, 16, when I joined Typhlo.net, the forum that tought me about forums and the interwebs, and also sparked my Japan-interest. THAT'S being helpful. ^^

Beware of falling into the misconception that many rules of the world doesn't apply to you. That's the deception of insecurity. Would you have as little hope for someone else very much like you, as you have for yourself (in that moment of cynicism)? Try and picture the scene.

- If you could actually think "well, at least he's better off than me", well, that's as awful as it's incorrect.
- If you think "hell yeah, of course there's hope for him", then think about what that means for yourself.
- And if you think "he's just as hopeless as me", then you're perfectly right, because you're digging your own grave with that attitude. And that's nothing to be proud of (though it can actually be tempting). xD It's what I like to call the catch of the concept of free will, because nobody can save you if you prefer to be lost.

Well, I feel a lot more useless, at least. But I realize it may be connected to a few recent events where I've just felt useless and stupid. :<

To be honest, I really don't see how you'd feel inferior to anyone among your friends. It's not that I think you're so much better than them or vice versa, but you're a different person, and I really don't like comparing people like that, as my dad occasionally compares me to my sisters who are doing well in school.

You have certain qualities than few others have, and it doesn't really matter what those qualities are, as long as it's part of your defining qualities. There will always be people who are better than both you, me and everybody else we know.

It's not so much that I feel inferior to them in general, but they all have abilities of sorts that I wish I had, and I feel that I don't really have anything to compensate for my lack of this.

Of course, there will always be people who are better than everyone, I'm not aiming for the top. And of course everyone has different defining qualities, but I think it matters what they are. After all, aren't someone's defining qualities the reason they're awesome? In other words, that's what SPECIAL \o/ about that person, and I'm just slightly frustrated that I don't know more stuff that would make me SPECIAL and useful. But it's not something that really bothers me a lot, it just really got to me last night.
