bill's pilgrimage, part 1: amsterdam.

Apr 23, 2010 21:10

For the last three weeks I was more or less travelling through Europe. I say "more or less" because I was forced to visit more countries than planned due to the stupid volcano on Iceland that I still cannot pronounce. ;)

My first (planned) destination was Amsterdam, and I still love this city to bits. My kind host was lhuneldaiel, who did her best to make ( Read more... )

hee, paradiso! good memories. first time i officially photographed a concert was there :)

the door of the hard rock café! hee, when i was there it was closed and waiters kept disappearing behind it and other waiters came back out (that we didn't see go in) so we made up stories about the monster living behind the door ;-)

LOL! Very well spotted! It's just a t-shirt, but they actually had Green Day hoodies at the market in Amsterdam! ;)

Oh, awesome! Is the acoustic in there as good as people say it is?

HAHAHA, yes, people went through that guitar door several times and I was very amused! XD Though it is a bit risky of them to put those valuable guitars in a door! ;)

Thanks! :D

LMAO! I'm exactly the same! I love seeing people all around the world eat international food! XD But then again I'm food-obsessed. *LOL*

You definitely have to see Amsterdam if you ever decide to visit Europe. Such a beautiful city. And there's so many interesting things to see! :D

PLACES AROUND THE WORLD WHERE YOU CAN EAT THE BEST TIL YOU POP! :P
*DIES LAUGHING* Now this sounds like a job for me! XDDD

The volcano shall die in a fire (erm... XD), and I didn't really see a lot of the countries I passed during my voyage home (I only saw London underground and the main train station in Brussels), but everyone keeps telling me that they wouldn't dare to take a train through the Channel tunnel because they're afraid it might cave in, so I feel a bit special for having done that. XD

OMG, YOU DIDN'T KNOW I WATCHED THAT? GO HERE! I'm completely obsessed with this show! XD Well, not the show as a whole because I don't really understand much, but some awesome person has put subtitles for the Flaco/Lalo storyline up on youtube and I can't ( ... )

There's always a difference between going somewhere with your family and going somewhere alone (or with friends). So yes, you should definitely go and visit Amsterdam again! I'm sure Lhun will show you everything you need to see. :)

I definitely must pay the Hard Rock Café in Madrid a visit! Sounds great! :)

LOL, I bought two to take home, and I showed one to my Mum and she nearly died laughing. XD Chocolate cocks FTW!

The tuna pasta salad was out of this world, seriously. I'm not kidding. I actually helped myself to a second serving, and my first one was big enough already. XD And the cakes were awesome, too!

Exactly, raw herring in the Netherlands is a must. Though some people don't dare eat it, just like they don't dare eat sushi.

The raw herring was awesome. Like butter, melting in your mouth. :)
