The reccing continues!

» Jack Davenport
» Ioan Gruffudd (2 new films added)
» Paul McGannNow, to the current rec post. I was actually thinking about doing two parts of this, one part including the films in which Beanie's character dies and one in which he doesn't die, but then I remembered people might not want spoilers. ;) For those who are ( Read more... )

Hmm, let's see...I like Sean Bean but he hasn't reached that status for me where I'll see a film just because he's in it.

Like Lorna Doone, I've never seen his but I did watch the one where the love interest is played by Richard Coyle because I loved Richard and that was a lot more unique.

I've seen some of the Sharpes and I'm sure this will be considered heresy to some, but I saw them after LOTR and it was just...eh. more of the same. They're kind of like eye candy; pleasant to watch and forgettable afterwards.

LOTR=LOVE and I don't need to explain that.

I try to watch The Big Empty, I do. It comes on tv and I think of the cast list and feel as though I should watch...and then it loses my interest after fifteen minutes.

Troy -umm, he was good. They had good acting in it, but I hate the story, I do. It's about stupid teenagers/young people who cause the deaths of thousands because I'm cynical and unromantic that way.

National Treasure was fun. I also saw Percy Jackson and the Olympians where afterwards my mom was like, Zeus? ( ... )

I must say that so far it mostly paid off when I watched a film just because he's in it. I've seen quite a lot of awesome films that way. Unfortunately I've also seen a couple of films I could have very well lived without, but you can't avoid those, I guess, even when you just watch stuff that sounds interesting and don't care about who's in it.

I've been wanting to watch both Lorna Doone films for ages but I couldn't get them anywhere in the UK, and they're too expensive on Amazon. But I'll keep looking. I like Richard Coyle, too, and the film he's in also has Aidan Gillen, who is awesome. :D

I love Sharpe, but I can understand that people who aren't too interested in the historical period or don't particularly fancy films about war might not be able to draw much enjoyment from them. I for my part love everything about them, and I also adore the books.

The Big Empty is really a weird film. I don't hold it against anyone if they don't manage to finish it. XD

Oh, I was lucky enough to find Lorna Doone at the library...they tend to have the older out of print stuff...I may have even watched on vhs...lol

Yay, fellow jaded person! In college, there were just three of us who said in front of the whole class that Romeo and Juliet were stupid and Doc, the professor, just shook his head and said he felt sorry for us.

I think it will definitely help if you haven't read the books. The movie canon is THAT different!

Hehe, have you seen his toys for Percy?

I ADORE Sean Bean. I think he makes an absolutely delicious villain, it's just a shame that the vilain's always seem to die xD

That's exactly what I think. It's not often that I side with the bad guys, I'm rather obsessed with justice, but Beanie portrays the villains so well and makes the audience understand their motivations and reasons, so I usually end up rooting for his characters - which, of course, makes the outcome of the films incredibly frustrating. ;)

*points at icon* That movie is so totally amazing, and I absolutely agree with you what you wrote about it.

Also, I watched Patriot Games, GoldenEye and Lord of the Rings, but I had no idea anymore that Bean stars in the first two movies. It's been way too long ... =P But LOTR?! Yes. Please.

Equilibrium is great - I so have to watch it again soon! I remember loving it to bits when I first saw it. :)

OMG, you don't remember Beanie in GoldenEye? Then you definitely have to watch it again. One of the best Bond villains EVER. :D And I also recommend you to watch Patriot Games again, it's a good film and Beanie is awesome. :D

When Saturday Comes, I know some of the footballers in that film because they played for my home town team :)

Sean Bean is an excellent actor, my favourite though has to be him in Sharpe.

OMG, really? Now that is awesome! XD Who are they? I must pay special attention to them next time I watch the film! :)

Haha, yeah, Sharpe is totally his best role. I'm currently reading the books and I must say that Beanie is perfect for the part in every way. :)
