Some idiot was hotlinking my recent Iker icons in some Arabic forum. I kept changing the URLs. As did the idiot. He was really dedicated, so the icons got over 9,000 hits within the last three days. I doubt I'm even credited for them.

As a result, I friendslocked my recent icon post and gave the hotlinker a nice pic he can look at instead of IkerRead more... )

I wish I could find out who that idiot is. Unfortunately I posted the icons in an unlocked post originally, so anyone could have hotlinked them. They needn't even have a LJ account. *sigh*

I hope it won't be necessary, because as soon as you start posting your icons in locked entries, a lot of people don't bother with them anymore. (And I hate it when people advertise flocked posts in their journals in public posts at communities.)

hotlinkers are such pain in the ass :/

hahahhaha, love the pic he gets instead now :D but you should have done it in 800x900 or so

I thought about it, but then decided against it because 1) I would have had to look at it in 800x900 too and I don't really think it's that much of a looker, and 2) Photobucket would probably have deleted it within seconds. (I'm actually hoping they won't delete it for some time.)

photobucket is going a bit crazy with what they are not allowing...

How totally lame is that?

Hotlinking is a total no-go. Idiots like that drive me up the wall, to put it nicely. *fumes*

I was pissed off enough to find out that my artwork was posted elsewhere, but the hotlinking made it all worse. *grmbls*
