epl: fc everton vs liverpool fc...

Liverpool are really a joy to watch this season. Not just this season, of course, but particularly this season. Especially the passes are excellent. Some left me staring open-mouthedly at my computer screen, I was so baffled. And even more importantly than that, they're not just playing great football at the moment, they're also playing more or ( Read more... )

Weird - I didn't even see it like that. I guess I have to download the highlights somewhere and check if Kuyt was really offside. :)

I don't dislike Robbie or anything, but he came with a reputation of having scored 48 goals in two seasons for Tottenham and he hasn't scored in a competitive game for Liverpool so far. I think it's about time for him to deliver. I do appreciate his devotion, but that alone isn't enough.

I think so too. He definitely didn't get the red card for the foul against Alonso. Too bad indeed! *LOL*

Woo @ MOTM! I really felt for him, he's been so frustrated in recent weeks (going to the extreme of cutting his hair!) so I was hoping so much that he would score. :) I do wish he'd gotten a hat-trick, obviously, but hey, refs are stupid.

Just one thing:
A third shot of Torres' hit the back of the net as well, but Riera had kicked it past the goal line before so it didn't count. About two minutes after that, Kuyt scored, but his goal got disallowed as well.
I think it was the other way around? Kuyt scored after Riera had kicked the ball out, and then Torres' third goal was disallowed.
Apparently, it was disallowed because Kuyt had been pushing another player, but the replays showed that it was really soft. So I'm outraged on Nando's behalf.

*LOL* Yeah, I noticed the haircut and wondered if it was supposed to be some kind of voodoo charm. ;) Seems it worked out! XD

I could have sworn that it was the other way around, but after having read your comment, I wasn't so sure anymore. Therefore, I downloaded the highlights and watched them, and you're right. Kuyt scored after Riera put the ball out. And WTF, Kuyt didn't even push Lescott, he merely touched him! *facepalm* Torres should have gotten the hattrick!

By the way, have you watched the highlights? Totally awesome! Rafa shouted "Vamos, vamos!" at some point, and the commentator immediately picked up on it. XD Brilliant. I wonder if it was directed at a certain Spaniard or if Rafa thought the whole team understood Spanish by now. XD

Fernando said in an interview once that he changes his hairstyle if he hasn't been scoring goals - some extreme superstition! :)

Well, if my comment forced you to sit down and watch highlights of the match again, I'm glad! Any excuse to get more! XD I agree though, there was hardly any contact between Kuyt and Lescott - really poor refereeing.

I haven't seen the highlights, no, but I did notice the "Vamos" moment - I cracked up when I saw it! I think he was saying it to Riera because he'd just made a mistake, but I can't be sure. Anyhow, it was hilarious - you'd think that if he needs to resort to Spanish, it would be to say something more important than "vamos"!
