As of 9am today, I am officially a civil servant! *squirts champagne over you all* XD Since this is a public entry, I won't go into detail, but let me just say that the handing over of my certificate this morning ended a legal fight that lasted almost two years, which might give you a good idea of how relieved, glad and simply ( Read more... )

Congrats with becoming an official civil servant. Must have been quite a fight. (very much in general (so no details are needed): what kind of job are you doing?)

Funny, I try to keep away from the real persons and the info about them when I write rps. (although I look at things like physical stuff and such. Of course, information still drips in and find its way in my stories...

Pity indeed that readers avoid fics about certain pairings because there so many about them there's bound to be some badfic to be found.
I get my SeX readers either because they're hardcore fans or because they know my writing via other pairings.
Ah well, I guess we all miss out on good stuff for all kind of reasons.

Thank you! :D It really was a rather annoying fight, and I lost quite some time, but I'm glad it's all sorted now. (I'm working for the city of Augsburg, the local authority real estate office to be exact, and my job is it to a) create and fill a database about our real estates and contracts and b) deal with software and hardware in our department. For example, when a computer is broken or a printer isn't working, people call me.) :)

Oh, you do? I usually use the snippets of information about the real persons as inspiration for my fics, and sometimes even try to include them to make my stories a bit more believable. It's great fun to make people think "this COULD have happened!" :D

So you're computer savvy. Such a useful skill.

I don't look for the information, but of course it finds its way to my (writing) brain anyway. ;-)

In fairness to German Free TV - they showed the Russia game. *g* And if you want to watch the others, try http://myp2p.eu/competition.php?competitionid=&part=sports&discipline=football. It always works great for me.

Oh, right! They did. But Russia is in Germany's group, so I'm not really surprised that they showed it. ;)
OMG, yes, that website! It's really awesome! Of course you need to install a shitload of programmes, but the streams are pretty good sometimes, so it's really worth it. :)

And they showed the second half of the England-game, so they weren't too bad... though I would've preferred the Portugal-Denmark game. *g*
And yes, it is! And I actaully haven't installed anything, apart from Windows Media Player... there are enough streams for that one, fortunately. :-)

Exactly! :D Even though I probably wouldn't understand much if Stevie spoke directly to me, I did enjoy pretending that it was him telling me all this face to face. :D The ghostwriter really did an amazing job.

It's one of their very best CDs, believe me. I've been listening to it for days now and still can't get enough. :) (My next purchase will be "Zapatillas". ;))

Thank you! :D

It's a special title for people working for the government. There are normal employees and civil servants. Civil servants are said to have much safer jobs because as soon as you're a civil servant for life (I'll be appointed that when I'm 27 years old), it's pretty much impossible to fire you. Also, you get better health care and have a better chance to get promoted. You have to work 3 hours longer per week than normal employees, though, which sucks a bit. And you aren't allowed to go on strike.
