I found an interesting article about the Euro 2008 in Monday's Kicker and thought I'd share it with you. Pardon me if there are any mistakes, I can't translate properly in this heat.

It wasn't even just the pressure but also the fact that Stuttgart's manager had the brilliant idea to make transfer remarks about him and repeatedly hinting at a planned meeting with Bayern, which the media immediately leapt upon. Turned out afterwards that Gomez won't go to Bayern, but I think it ruined the tournament for him.

I'm really impressed by Hiddink, too. First South Korea, then Australia, and now Russia. Are there actually any unsolvable problems for him? At this point, I believe he could even get American Samoa to the World Cup... ;)
