fc bayern münchen vs. fc schalke 04: 1-0...

Jul 28, 2007 20:04

Dear Schalke,

the name of this sport is "football". Not "fouling".

Not so much love,

Me.

ETA: I'm glad we won this. People might say it was a lucky victory, but we were mindblowing against Werder and quite excellent against Stuttgart, so I think it was deserved. And Schalke couldn't really stop us except with fouls, and that's saying something ( Read more... )

I KNOW.

What was it, like, 30 fouls for them? And five yellows? INSANE.

Indeed. And some of those weren't even harmless fouls, and they seemed to take turns with players, too. At the beginning, it was ALWAYS Klose, then they seemed to lose interest in him, and then it was ALWAYS Sosa, and at the end, they alternated between Ottl and Hamit Altintop. WTF? *facepalm* Krstajic can thank God he wasn't sent off - he would have deserved it.

I KNOW. Krstajic totally deserved to be sent off -- that shirt pull on Sosa was a straight second yellow. I was so furious that play just went on.

But we Bayern won anyway, even if the goal was messy and it was by Miro, whom I'm still pretty pissed at.

Everytime that poor Sosa landed on the floor, I could have howled. How can you seriously foul a player like that? It's almost as bad as fouling Philipp Lahm. There should be special penalties for such things. >.< At the beginning, the referee was quite good at choosing the right kind of punishment, but the match slipped out of his hands further and further during the second half.

And yes, it was a messy goal, but I think it was kind of typical for this match. And it was the result of Krstajic and the usually so flawless Neuer collaborating to make a huge mistake - something you don't see every day, but something Bayern FINALLY manages to take advantage of. :)

The fouls were AWFUL. Poor Miro took a beating.

Oh yes. As I just wrote above, they seemed to take turns with players. At the beginning, it was ALWAYS Klose who got fouled. When he remained on the ground and clutched his shoulder, I was worried out of my mind already! Fortunately, it didn't seem to be too severe - and Klose paid them back with that goal that must have been a punch in Schalke's faces...

Yes I know.. I watched the replay and seen the way he fell and was like ugh I hope he didn't seperate his shoulder.. the way he was clutching it on the ground had me so intensely worried. I was so glad he scored too.. even if it was unpretty.

Well, it might not have been a pretty goal, but considering that it was the result of such a HUGE mistake by Krstajic and the usually flawless Neuer, it was certainly typical for this match. I'm especially pleased to notice that Bayern's use of chances has improved. Unlike last season, they don't need 3,293,486,942,335,485,407 chances to score anymore. :)

That was complete anti-football from Schalke at times *shakes head*

Yeah. I mean, okay, the match itself wasn't really that breathtaking, but I bet that if Schalke hadn't ended every single good advance from Bayern with yet another stupid foul, we'd have scored a few more goals. It was quite a lousy way to escape a figurative beating, but an effective one, unfortunately.

Speaking of your icon, wasn't Micho adorable out there today, with his ponytail and his grin? And that little header that almost went in, too.

I was so annoyed during the first half - all those stupid fouls. And when Miro was lying there, clutching his shoulder, I was ready to kill the Schalke player who had fouled him. Grrr >/

And as horrible as it was that they turned on Sosa afterwards, I was still annoyed at him, as well. So many passes gone wrong and so many chances not used. And I know he's only just recovered so I'm trying to not be too angry. And it's really hard to be angry at him when he looks so cute.

Otherwise, I was so happy to see Micho play so well. And that header that almost went in, oh my. I was squeeing like mad =) And he looked so good, too, with that ponytail! Yum. And when the game was over and everybody was hugging each other (did you see Ottl hugging Kahn? O.o Ugh) I was trying to see some 5/6 moments but I didn't see them together. Did you?

Oh yes. One just doesn't do things like that and get away with it unpunished. >.I was satisfied with Sosa's performance. He managed to prepare a lot of good attacks, and it's not his fault that they went nowhere because Schalke performed yet another foul. Sosa has a huge potential, I think. It's hard for him to get accustomed to German football, which is just normal, because in Argentina, they play differently and less strength-consumingly. But he knows his place, knows what to do, and the fact that Schalke's players could only stop him with fouls speaks for his incredible talent. I'd love to see what he'd do to the ball once he has a free path in front of him. And his free kicks are definitely better than the ones Bayern performed last year. We'll have to be patient with him. Once he's gotten used to the Bundesliga and our style of playing (and I'm sure he will soon), he'll show his true excellence ( ... )

I know, I know =) Sosa was good, all in all. I was just a little bored by the game and then he kept not scoring goals and yeah :p But I heard from others, too, that they play different in Argentina and that he's probably going to have a hard time in the beginning, becoming accustomed to everything. But I'm sure he'll find his way eventually. I don't think Bayern would have paid so much for him if he wasn't good.

Awww, Sosa clinging to Micho is way too cute and I can so perfectly imagine it. Somebody should write fic about it. ♥

Hehe, I had wished for a Sosa goal, too, especially since they're so beautiful, but he has to fully arrive at Bayern first. But rest assured that I'll squee the whole house down when he scores eventually. :) Maybe he'll have taught the Bayern players to manpile by then. *grins*

Will try to make an icon - or at least a little videoclip - out of it so you can see how adorable it really was. ♥

Somebody should write fic about it.
Yes, somebody should... *nudgenudge* XD

That's exactly what I want to say.
Poor Miro and Sosa, everytime they have a close up on them, they're rolling on the floor.

Exactly! It was a bit like the CL matches against AC Milan - and I was furious enough whilst watching those. >.< I think players should get back to playing football, because that's what they're paid for!

Ah, CL match against Milan. Brazzo's always fouling someone. The amount of fouls and yellow cards for Schalke is a record! Though NED vs POR during WC is, classic.

Brazzo? No, I meant Gattuso and Pirlo! They took turns at fouling van Bommel until the poor guy was completely exhausted and didn't participate in the match anymore. :(

True. I still regret not having watched this. *pout*
