wedding date...

Watched The Wedding Date. It's not the greatest movie of all time, but it was certainly entertaining. Of course, I squeed over JackDav whenever he appeared on screen, which might have distracted me from the actual plot, but that's okay. He is just so damn cute. ( spoilers )

Oh, the glare. And the ensuing chivalry. Sigh. My hero.

According to Debra Messing on the commentary, the horrible sister was meant to be even worse, but so much was cut out of it because the director wanted the audience to like her.

Why JackDav decided to go ahead and marry her after he found out is beyond me (other than because that's the point of the happy ending).

I do wish there had been more Davenporty scenes, but I like it as a fluffy feelgood film that doesn't tax the brain.

My thoughts exactly. I wouldn't have married that bitch after all she'd done, but JackDav had to, of course. He's too good for us. *sigh*

I haven't watched the commentary version yet and I don't know if I will, so thanks for the info. Makes me like her even less.

Who wouldn't wish that? He's so cute in every scene he's in! *pets him*

Well, I was annoyed to death by all the other characters so yes, I think this includes the horrible sister too *grin*

The final comodorial glare was the best moment of the film, IMHO. *grin*

Yeah - Debra Messing was a bit too hysteric and hectic and quite a strange person, Dermot Mulroney was too smooth and know-it-all (and not even THAT pretty) and the sister was plain horrible. I kind of liked Mum and Dad, but that might be because they weren't in the movie too often.

I love the discussion Ed and Nick had in Nick's car, the one that ended with the make up sex statement. Ed was wonderfully insightful in this one and I appreciated that, considering that he was rather one-dimensional during the first part.

Oh yes, it was a good moment too. Rather "couplish". Buth I had from the start a dislike for Nick, so I enjoyed the scene only for the Davenport-half *grin*

The movie is great- like you said- not hte best, but cute.

I don't think I would have watched that movie in the theatre if I hadn't known JackDav was in it. But I would probably have reacted just like you - with the difference that the only person I would have watched that movie with would have been the Farmer and she probably would have reacted just the same. ;)

I liked the idea, but the people they cast for it definitely weren't too great. Okay, Dermot Mulroney is quite acceptable below his face, but... you know. Definitely not the guy I'd swoon about. But then again - what do I know? ;)

I'd swoon over Mulroney. Did you see Must Love Dogs? He played a bastard and I still would have.

No, I haven't seen that one... I don't think I've ever seen him in a movie. *scratches head*
