You have a great Ainsley voice.

Also Josh seeming a little bit jealous of Ainsley's vacation with Sam, and Ainsley seeming obvlivious of it - great stuff.

Oh thank you, honey!

You think Ainsley was oblivious to the Josh/Sam subtext?

No, oblivious was probably the wrong word.

I meant that she seems oblivious to the fact that he's jealous, not the subtext itself.

Obviously Ainsley is a smart person and would have picked up on the underlying currents between Sam and Josh immediately, but I think she probably would have dismissed it as none of her concern immediately after that.

Oh, this is awesome! There's not enough Josh & Ainsley fic in the world -- there's maybe only one other story I've read before? Now there's 100% more Josh & Ainsley! You do a great job working the Josh/Sam subtext in with Sam/Ainsley, and portraying how sensitive Ainsley is to the situation. (Plus, S4 stories dealing with Sam in California are favourites of mine!)

I love her advice to Josh, and the comparison to Wiley Boggs. Poor Josh, he's always been kind of a dunce when it comes to relationships, whether romantic or not. I love that we don't know for sure if Josh has a thing for Sam or not.

Now I have to go look up Lawrence Tribe. I have *no idea* who he is, how sad is that...

Omg, not sad *at all*! Lawrence Tribe is a constitutional law scholar who has argued in front of the Supreme Court a lot in high profile cases (Bush v. Gore I, for example) and teaches at Harvard Law School. He's a big time liberal and a genius, but he's not *really* famous, I'm just a law dork.

Anyway, I'm so glad you liked this! I kept going back and forth about how this would come out, so I'm really glad it worked for you!

first, spot on with ainsley. I'm scrapping my fic and starting over because it is MUD compared to this.

second: “My father used to say don’t play baseball facing the house because you’ll break a window.” This was the best line of the entire thing, only because I can see BW delivering it perfectly. Totally Josh.

Oh thank you SO much, honey!

"I'm scrapping my fic and starting over because it is MUD compared to this."

Oh don't you dare! I know the feeling because all I kept thinking while I was writing this was that it was sucking beyond the telling of it, but after receiving your lovely and flattering feedback I'm convinced that Ainsely is just hard to hear, so you never quite feel like you got her right. So post away, baby--I'm sure it's fantastic!

I love this. The voices are great and any conversation between these two would have to be interesting. *g* Glad not everybody has forgotten Sam in California!
