That was so sweet, Anon! I liked this introduction of the characters a bit better than others in canon I could name, and hey, I'm always a sucker for family arguments at the holidays. Lovely job!

So much love for Alice, especially in the story. Of course she cried... she was a newborn. I think her voice in this is perfect.

Well done!

I'm with Bees. I didn't have to walk away, but I agree about Alice and Steven. So much could've been done with both of them, both in their own right and as reflections on Jack and his team. You did a lovely job showing that (and getting the tense family dynamics that only holidays bring out). Favorite image? Ianto and Steven eavesdropping!

Hee, thank you! I really tried to not forget Steven was there, because I do have a tendency to slowly filter kids out of a story when i write them. So he and Ianto got a moment, too.

Ah, this was great. I particularly liked Ianto here and you made Alice very sympathetic. Love the way you depicted Jack and Ianto's relationship too. And the end is great.

I loved the line that blue quoted also.

I like the peeks into Jack's past. So much we don't know...
