[Picky was rushing on his way to school, running late because of his own totally awesome delivery in the mail... and then he hears the gunshots.

...though he's not sure that they are gunshots. Were those firecrackers? Popping bags? What? Throwing all caution and all warnings to stay out of trouble to the wind, he turns and heads back down that direction of the street.]
