First of all, don’t worry about this place closing down, that’s NOT what’s going on so don’t leave the community or anything.

Hrm...I don't have a strong idea on change. This is one community I like, just the way it is.

I guess that really isn't all that helpful, except to know that it is liked.

Yeah, I love the community the way it is too. SO COME BACK! =P
I'm thinking maybe for each pairing, you should always give some caps, just to help people along. But don't make it mandatory that they use those caps. Give them some sample caps, but let them know they can use their own too, if they please.
And to mix things up some times, you always could try theme challenges? And that way we can use any shipper to go along with the them.

If you don't think that you are going to bring back the communtiy you may want to post about this community at icontest_adopt, a community made for people to adopt old/dead communities and try to bring them back to life.
