Those are some lovely iris. They're such gorgeous flowers, and as you mention, fragile. I enjoy seeing them grow outside, as I can delight in the blooms for many more days than if they were cut and in a vase.
Have you seen the variety that's a dusty pink with a dusty yellow throat? I think of them as looking sepia-toned.
I don't remember seeing any like that, but I get so many gardening catalogs that I probably did at some point.
I'm not sure what I'd do with sepia-toned flowers, unless the rest of the plant was sepia-toned also. That would be a fine garden to mess with people's minds. :) (See also: the Calvin&Hobbes strip about the world changing from B/W to color during his dad's lifetime.)
