So, back to the shitty-code geek theater. I brought some of these issues up in a forum populated by the responsible parties and their user base, and while the responsible parties did not have any questions, some of the users did. Quoted material belongs to said curious user, and my (in some cases, slightly cleaned-up) response follows.
