gosh viva la vida is probably the only coldplay song i have listened to properly since Parachutes.. when they were still singing about spies coming out of the water instead of uh, things i can't quite understand now :( I just couldn't connect to their Clocks-era songs, but VLV was something different. thanks for uploading violet hill!

lol if i do this meme all the songs will probably be, by mr children. they really have done an awful lot of songs and their ten albums? are all i listen to these days. it's like being in a permanent fit of nostalgia.

Coldplay has never really sung about things I've understood. "Shoot an apple off my head"? "I drew a line for you and it was all yellow"? ????? VLV is really awesome, though. "Lost!" is one of my favorite songs. I almost love it more than "Don't Panic", and that's saying something.

Incidentally I will defend VLV the album to my death. I mean I don't even particularly love Chris Martin or Coldplay really, but the album goes down smooth as all fuck, and sometimes that's really all you want from a goddamn collection of songs.
