Xbox finally got me

Now I feel like a true Xbox 360 owner. It took a year & 3 month, but I got my first RRoD (Red Ring of Death) over the weekend. Was hoping this would never happen, but... oh well. It's on its way back to Microsoft for repairs. Had to pay for packing though (since Microsoft canceled sending boxes to people in May). Of course it would happen a ( Read more... )

That really sucks, I hope it comes back quick. I know I had to do it for my brother twice already and it seemed like it came back fast. Hopefully they will just replace our system with the cool new cold and quiet models

As long as it's an "Elite", I'm OK with that(since that's what I bought). If I get back a white 360, I'm gonna be pissed!

Did you ever hear about the kid who had sent in his Xbox which had a drawing of Master Chief by one of the Bungie team? He sent a note and even told the customer rep that it had sentimental value and sure enough the bastards actually ERASED the drawing.
Luckily a bunch of gamers wrote in to Microsoft with angry emails and the kid actually got a new unit with a new drawing and autographs by the entire Bungie team, but still it was pretty f'ed up.

Yeah, I remember that. He ended up making out big time. Agreed, that was messed up what they did.

My XBox RRoD last year, but it came back to life and I've never had a problem with it until last week. The systems freezes during games and the occasional DVD where they'll be these white dotted vertical lines, but no red ring, can't access the guide, I have to manually restart it.

I wish it WOULD red ring already so I could just send it back.
