Sorry to hear about your laptop! :( I'd be depressed too.

I read Jim's book. Have tissues ready.

My desktop is what died, so i'm on an oldschool laptop now xD (it's from like 04-05...so this thing is huge and slow) =/

and yeah, that's what i've heard. i've read excerpts and it's just...wow.

Are you sure it's the computer that died and not just the monitor?

And if it is the computer that died, why not just get a docking station for your laptop, then when you're at home, you can hook it up to your keyboard and monitor and use it that way. Get an external hard drive for extra storage. The docking port and external hard drive will cost less than a new desktop, and if you're getting a new laptop for graduation, you won't need the processing power in the desktop, the laptop will have plenty.

I hope you're able to recover your files. *hugs*

I thought it could be that, like I uplugged/replugged in the monitor, but still the same...but I doubt it's the monitor bc the comp is from 2002 (and riddled with viruses that get by the 3 scanners I use) and the monitor's from 2005. jic, though, during the week i'll look for another monitor in the house to see what happens.

and dude...that's actually a pretty genius idea. might just end up doing that.

and thanks, so do I *hugs*
