Rosie curls up in one corner of her couch, watching John, waiting for him to settle.

John settles down in the other corner, tucking one leg beneath him to face Rosie and watching her curiously.

She takes a deep breath, looking down at her hands. "You want to know why I'm upset?"

He smiles a bit. "It'd be nice. I can't fix it if I don't know what I did."

She doesn't look up. "I don't like some of the decisions you're making about our son. I really don't like that you're making them without talking to me. Am I not supposed to be his mom anymore?"
