a love shock - drabble
Fandom: Heroes/Star Trek
Pairing: Spock/Elle, sort of.
Rating: K.
Disclaimer: I do not own anything.
Summary: He doesn’t understand why she shocks him at every available opportunity.

Author’s Note: THIS JUST HAPPENED, IDK WHAT ELSE TO SAY ABOUT IT. I blame Bria/helplessdancer, though. It’s for her.

The first time she had given him, as she called it, "a love shock," he had responded with a raised brow and an unnoticeable flinch. He quickly discerned by her playful smile and batting eyelashes that this small attack was not meant to start a physical altercation, but it unnerved him all the same. He inquired, logically, why it was necessary that he be administered with a jolt of electricity.

She had smiled, but there was something of a secret in her eyes to accompany the gesture, some wordless message he failed to interpret. Spock knew it was a physical impossibility to suggest there was confidential information hidden in a set of eyes, but he thought it all the same.

The second time she had sparked him, it was in the mess hall-despite many attempts to convey to her that he, like many Vulcans, found physical touch a taboo, she continued to harass him with little caresses to his neck, his arms, and to his concealed discomfort, both his ears and his hands. He decided to not express to her the impropriety of both of these actions, coming to the conclusion that there was a ninety-five percent chance she would pointedly touch him in both of these areas seventy-three percent more if she knew his hands and ears were both particularly sensitive to the touch and also signified intimacy in his culture.

When she sparked him that second time, it was doubly offensive, considering she administered it by touch to the tip of his left ear, which was both painful and unexpected. In addition, it provoked an illogical anger that tested his control-for a moment his humanity rebelled, and he held back from snapping at her.

There was a careless, spontaneous, and unpredictable nature about her that set him on edge, as the human saying went. He could not suitably predict her next action, thought, or response without a wide margin of miscalculation, and constantly he was forced to endure her presence because she had, for some reason he had not queried after, formed an instant attachment to him.

The third time she shocked him, it was on the tip of his nose with an uncontained giggle, and he found himself unable to ignore his curiosity any longer.

"Miss Bishop, I fail to understand what you find so pleasing about inflicting electrical shocks to me at every opportunity," he stated, his hand clasped behind his back.

Her facial features shaped into the human expression of a pout. "It's fun. And your burns are green," she added the last sentence with what Spock identified as happiness.

This was most illogical.

"Your definition of recreational activity differs greatly from not only accepted Vulcan ideas of past time, but also an average human's. I feel compelled to tell you that, while I am not an expert in psychology, I do believe you suffer from some mild case of sociopathy due to perhaps a chemical imbalance or an unhealthy environment including but not restricted to both the conditions of the place in which you resided as well as the people in which you were surrounded with during your upbringing. I suggest you seek appropriate guidance. Your sadistic nature is irrational and at worst, harmful to yourself and those around you."

Her eyes had narrowed increasingly during his spoken observations, and she cupped a ball of electricity in her hand. It reflected a cyan color across the planes of her pleasing facial structure. At the completion of his speech, she asked, "Are you suggesting I need therapy?"

Spock did not follow why she should need confirmation, but he provided it. "Succinctly put, yes."

In response, she zapped him, and he flinched. "Watch it, buddy. Super strength alien or not, I'll light you up like a Christmas tree." Her face then transformed into a pleasant smile. "See you around." She skipped past him after running a finger along the ridge of his ear in a way that suggested she was aware of the intimacy it connoted.

She was fascinating.
