Summary: In Sunnydale for work Pepper has a surprise.

Timeline/Setting: During the summer after season six of Buffy and a couple of months after the end of the Avengers movie.
Author's notes(if any): It’s fanfic…. Cue hand waving for ages and dates of characters.
“Miss Potts, where are we going?” Happy asked as he followed the directions to the address Pepper had given him.
“I’m going to say hello to an old mentor of mine. I knew him before I came to Stark Industries.” Pepper explained reaching up to check her hair.
Stopping the car in an empty parking lot Happy studied the broken door and window to a shop. “Unless he works construction I don’t think we’ll find him here.”
“I’m not going to leave without finding out.” Pepper Potts declared stepping out of the car looking at a demolished store front. Having come to Sunnydale for a meeting about possible expansion Pepper had made sure to schedule time to surprise her old mentor.
Not seeing anyone but hearing noises from the back room she called out, “Excuse me, is Rupert Giles here?”
A man hollered back an answer. “No. Why are you looking for him? Did you order something from the shop?”
“No I knew him personally many years ago.” She explained as noises came closer.
“So not a customer then.” A young man said as he came out of a back room with a high school aged girl following him.
“Pepper. Pepper Potts! In the Magic Box!”
“Hi Pepper. I’m Xander and this is Dawn. I’m guessing from her reaction that you’re successful at whatever you do. It’s nice to meet you. Giles isn’t here but I have an email address I could give you.”
“Thank you Xander. We’ve been exchanging emails for a while and I was hoping to surprise him when I was in town. We haven’t seen each other in years.” Pepper said reaching out to shake Xander’s extended hand.
Excitedly shaking Peppers hand Dawn asked, “How do you know Giles?”
Watching Pepper hesitate in answering Xander voiced his guess. “Dawn, I think Pepper almost got the job your sister inherited.”
Xander blinked when both of then turned to stare at him. “He was the Watcher to your Potential.”
“He was.” Pepper softly said answering his guess.
Dawn lunged forward to hug Pepper. “That makes you kinda family.”
“I think I’d like that.”
