“Hey some friends of mine are in town this week. Would you mind if I invited them?” Sam asked Steve, Natasha, and Darcy.
“Good people? They won’t get all weird because Avengers!?” Darcy asked patting her pockets for one last check.
“Good people. I bet the wont care or notice they’re out with any avengers.” Sam said.
“Sounds good. Will they meet us there or do we need to pick them up?” Steve asked.
“Meet them there.” Sam said pulling out his cell phone.
“Over there. The big booth in the corner.” Sam said pushing between Natasha and Steve as Darcy went to the bar for the first round of drinks.
“Hey Dawn. I brought some friends.” Sam said introducing everyone.
“Nice to meet you. I’m planning on getting a lot of appetizers, any objections?”
Not hearing any complaints Dawn flagged over a waiter to order. “Buffy’s somewhere on the dance floor and she’s expecting you to join her. So shoo off you go Sam.”
“Buffy from Sunnydale? We’ve met once before.” Steve said scooting into the booth.
Steve and Dawn pushed the empty plates away and sighed. They sat there silently for a minute watching the crowded dance floor. Dawn reached into the bag sitting next to her, “The Hobbit or Stardust. Pick one.”
Steve looked over to see what Dawn was talking about. Books, she was holding up two paperback books titled ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘Stardust’.
“You just made my night Dawn.” Steve grinned taking a book ignoring the dance floor.
Darcy returned from getting a different drink from the bar to see Natasha, Buffy, and Sam on the dance floor and two book worms reading. Sitting down Darcy pulled her own bag up from under the table. “When we go out in the future I’m totally bringing you along.”
When the lights were coming on and the music had stopped the dancing trio returned to the table. Expecting to see a bored trio they were surprised to find them two books getting intently read and a scarf getting knitted.
