Girls Night Out

Summary: Girls night out, Sunnydale style.

Timeline/Setting: After the Avengers, and after Chosen. All movies Post Avengers have not occurred, and wont.
Author's notes(if any): Last year I had some ficlets were Dawn married Steve and Buffy married Bruce. August 11-20 are planned to be in that same universe.
“Come on. We’re going out. Girls night out. We’re leaving the guys here.” Buffy announced walking into the central kitchen.
Pepper saw Dawn and Faith perk up at Buffy’s announcement. Even though she had never been mentioned before she arrived Faith was warmly welcomed and trusted. Taking a breath and hoping she wouldn’t be intruding, “Would you mind if I came too?”
“Sure.” Buffy said as Faith and Dawn went running out of the room.
“Do I need to bring anything?” Pepper asked wondering what they were getting.
“I’d change your clothes to jeans, comfortable shirt, and tennis shoes. And snack food to munch on.” Buffy explained reaching for the box of popcorn kernels.
Sometime later Pepper was sitting next to Dawn on a granite bench in a cemetery watching Faith and Buffy fight, jumping on and over headstones and crypts. Throwing popcorn in the air and leaning back trying to catch them in her mouth Dawn asked, “Are you having any fun?”
“This is your girls night out? I was expecting dinner, movie, a bit of pampering, maybe some drinks.” Pepper said.
“This started in high school. Theaters in Sunnydale didn’t have movies after dark, high school kids are underage, and any money Buffy did have went for clothes, then later when I was in high school and she was working two jobs there was no money for fun nights out, but spending time with Xander, Willow and friends; they enjoyed that when they could.” Dawn explained as she waved to Willow walking up.
“Two jobs?” Confused Pepper asked.
“After mom died Buffy dropped out of college to get more hours working. But the cemetery was still there.”
“That makes sense. Where did Buffy and Faith go?” Pepper asked looking around.
Willow pointed away from the entrance saying, “They said something caught their eye and they were going to check it out.”
“Hi Willow!” Trading a bag of cookies for some popcorn Dawn greeted Willow.
“It’s good to have a girls night out.”
Pepper looked at Willow’s grinning face. “Where did you all grow up?”
“Sunnydale. A one of a kind place.” Willow answered wondering just how much information Jarvis had been able to find out about her hometown.
